Building the IT Smart Systems Alumni Community

When someone leaves a company, the collaboration may end, but the relationship doesn't have to.
Over the years, many talented professionals have been part of the IT Smart Systems journey. Today, they're building products, leading teams, launching businesses, and solving new challenges across different industries and countries. While their careers have taken different directions, one thing remains the same: a shared history and a common passion for technology.
That is what inspired the IT Smart Systems Alumni Community.
Rather than looking at alumni as former colleagues, we see them as part of an extended network—people whose experience, ideas, and perspectives continue to add value long after their last day at IT Smart Systems.
The initiative started with a simple question: How do we stay connected in a way that is genuinely useful for all of us?
The answer wasn't another social media page or campaign. It was creating opportunities for conversations.

One of those opportunities is ITSS News Alumni, a newsletter built around content from ITSS News, our internal magazine.
Every edition brings together articles written by ITSS colleagues on topics that shape our industry—from software engineering and artificial intelligence to technology trends, books, podcasts, and practical resources. By sharing part of this content with our alumni community, we hope to keep ideas moving beyond the company and encourage discussions that continue across organisations.
We also wanted to create space for conversations that happen face to face.

This summer, we're launching the first ITSS Alumni Round Table, an informal gathering where our teams and former colleagues can reconnect over cheese, wine, and an open discussion about one of the topics that is changing the way we all work: using AI in practice.
Instead of presentations and slides, the focus is on real experiences—what works, what doesn't, what teams are experimenting with, and what everyone can learn from one another.
The community also lives online!
Our dedicated WhatsApp group offers a simple way to stay in touch, share interesting articles, discuss industry news, exchange recommendations, and hear about future meetups and initiatives.
Looking ahead, we hope this community becomes more than a place to reconnect. We see it as a network where knowledge flows naturally, where people recommend each other, collaborate on projects, exchange expertise, and occasionally help solve challenges that none of us could solve alone.
Technology will continue to evolve, new tools will emerge, and careers will keep taking unexpected turns. What makes a professional community valuable isn't that everyone works in the same place—it's that people choose to keep learning from one another.
The IT Smart Systems Alumni Community is our way of making that easier.
